Introduction to SMART Learning Suite – six-hour session

Ideally, all teachers should participate in a full day SMART Learning Suite introductory professional development session so they can learn how to best use their interactive whiteboards, projectors, or flat panels. This training allows for hands-on creation of lesson activities and elements.

We’ll discuss and demonstrate effective integration of SMART Notebook and SMART Learning Suite Online tools into daily instruction. Exposure to and hands-on creation using SMART Lab interactive activities as well as SMART Response for formative assessment will be covered. The session will introduce teachers to best instructional practices and unique features that will better enable them to design and deliver engaging lessons in the classroom and/or online. Through hands-on practice and mini-lesson creation, teachers will walk away with lesson resource knowledge and design skills that can be used immediately.

SMART Learning Suite – three-hour session

Teachers know the value of professional development delivered by experienced trainers. Make the Grade Training Solutions staff will deliver concise SMART Learning Suite introductory training to equip staff to explore and expand upon lesson delivery skills including gaining an understanding of effective use of SMART lab customizable templates to create game-based activities in minutes. Teachers will boost their understanding of successful applications using SMART Learning Suite with student devices in the classroom and/or online.

Through discussion and demonstration of what effective integration and pedagogy looks like, teachers gain confidence in using many of the best features of SMART software. This half-day event will introduce new instructional practices and unique features that will better enable improved lesson design and engagement. There will be time for some brief hands-on practice and each participant will walk away with lesson resource knowledge and design skills that can be used immediately.

Mini-introduction to SMART Learning Suite –  two-hour session

This is designed for the beginning SMART Notebook user and the teacher who has been using the SMART Board and its software for a relatively short time. Teachers will be introduced to the SMART Board, SMART Learning Suite, and some basic concepts including a short introduction to the hardware, software, and demonstrated uses.

• Designed for the time and/or budget-conscious school, this face-to-face short training session will include active modeling of what a teacher can do in the classroom to effectively integrate this great collaborative learning tool.

Value added!  At the end of training teachers will receive a multitude of SMART Notebook lesson files organized by content area to be immediately used in upcoming lessons.
